Matt BurtonCEO, Co-Founder
Matt has spent his career creating technologies and businesses that have transformed industries. In digital advertising he helped build, scale and optimize the Internet’s top advertising exchanges at Google, Admeld and LiveRail, which handled collectively handled trillions of transactions. As employee number seven at Admeld (which was acquired by Google for $400M in 2011) Matt played a central role in all aspects of the company, from product development to sales to operations. After Google, Burton joined LiveRail (which was acquired by Facebook for $500M in 2014) where he continued to focus on programmatic exchanges.
After transforming Online Advertising Matt changed his focused to Lending. In 2013 he founded Orchard Platform, where he and his co-founders are combining their expertise in auction dynamics and bidding behaviors, extensive knowledge in credit risk and underwriting analytics to reimagine the future of credit.
Matt is also a three time Texas State Tennis Champion and loves racket sports and traveling the world.
Jonathan KelferCTO, Co-Founder
Jonathan Kelfer has spent the last 7 years building trading systems and market infrastructure. Most recently, Jonathan worked at Google, leading the team responsible for integrating the Admeld technology stack into Google’s AdX advertising exchange post Google’s acquisition of Admeld. Prior to Google, Jonathan was an early engineering hire at Admeld, leading the team responsible for architecting Admeld’s core ad server and real-time bidding exchange. Previously, Jonathan worked at Bloomberg and Bear Stearns, architecting exchange infrastructure and algo for high frequency trading systems. He holds a BA and MS in computer science from New York University.
David SnitkofChief Analytics Officer, Co-Founder
David Snitkof has applied analytics and technology to banking, healthcare, travel, and media for over 10 years. At American Express, he worked on risk, product, and marketing analytics for new consumer card products and partnerships and also developed the underwriting criteria used to approve or decline billions of dollars in new credit. At Citigroup, David led a team driving analytics and strategy for the full Small Business credit lifecycle. David also was head of analytics and marketing at Oyster.com, an online travel startup since acquired by TripAdvisor. David excels at developing creative uses for data, communication of technical concepts, and building high-performing teams and products. He graduated from Brown University, where he studied Economics, Cognitive Psychology, & Neuroscience.
Kevin DoldanChief Financial Officer
Kevin began his career at KPMG in the Financial Services Assurance Practice. Subsequently, he was an investment banker in the Financial Institutions groups at Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers. He then joined Lightyear Capital, a financial services focused private equity firm, where he worked with portfolio company senior management to enhance value and drive growth at Lightyear’s portfolio companies. As the Chief Financial Officer at Orchard, Kevin is responsible for financial planning, reporting, and financial operations. Kevin graduated from Niagara University with a BBA in Accounting, Southwestern University School of Law with a JD, and the Johnson School at Cornell University with an MBA. Born and raised in Buffalo, Kevin is an avid Bills and Sabres fan, and lives in NY with his wife and daughter.
Bill UllmanChief Commercial OfficerBill has more than 20 years of financial services experience as an investment banker, operating executive, investment manager and board member. Prior to starting his own firm, Right Wall Capital Management, LLC in 2006, Bill was a senior banker and executive at Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns, respectively. Bill has served as an advisor to and “angel” investor in a select group of FinTech companies. At Orchard, Bill is responsible for global revenue generation and strategic management of the sales, client services and marketing teams. He also oversees the commercial strategy of Orchard’s products, including Orchard’s online loan marketplace.Bill‘s board positions include Van Eck Global, an asset management firm based in NY with over $30 billion under management and the Capital Returns Fund, a long short equity hedge fund focused on the insurance sector. Bill was also a Trustee and Chairman of the Board of the Hoff Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale, NY.Bill graduated from Princeton cum laude with an AB in history and has an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA. A life-long squash player, Bill won the US 50+ National Squash Doubles Championship in 2014 and was captain of the Princeton team.
Nadia GonzalezHead of Marketing
Nadia Gonzalez leads marketing teams that grow technology startups into differentiated global players. At Admeld she ran international marketing, PR efforts, and global events; as employee #5, she grew the brand and company culture until its acquisition by Google in December of 2011. At Google, she joined the Partner Business Solutions group where she was the lead product marketing manager for DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP). She then led North American marketing efforts for the Berlin based, Sociomantic Labs, which was acquired by dunnhumby, a Tesco company, in April of 2014. Nadia holds a BS from the University of California, Berkeley where she rowed on the crew team and was also a member of the university’s first women’s rugby team. Go Bears.
Hallie BonnarMarketing Manager
Hallie joined Orchard in September 2014 as one of the earliest team members, assisting initially with operations and marketing. Now in a dedicated Marketing Manager role, Hallie is responsible for Orchard’s marketing events with investor and originator partners, managing creation and production of collateral and content and overseeing Orchard’s online presence.
James CandalinoSenior Systems Engineer
James is a passionate systems engineer whose expertise lies in virtualization, system automation, and open source software. James has worked on everything from supercomputing projects to large scale, distributed global infrastructures. James loves being challenged to solve unique problems in novel ways.
Adam RochkindDirector of Client Services
Adam Rochkind has spent the past several years advising clients on the use of automated trading and analytics technology platforms. Most recently at Google he served as a sales specialist focused on programmatic advertising systems, responsible for building strategic partnerships and providing revenue solutions in the entertainment sector. A proud alumnus of the University of Michigan, in another life Adam followed a passion for books and worked at HarperCollins Publishers in New York. There he ran publicity and marketing campaigns for several New York Times bestselling authors and titles.
Catherine PargeterSr. Manager, Head of Data Integrations
Catherine focuses on client risk models and analytics at Orchard. Before joining the team, Catherine worked as a quantitative and equity research analyst for a socially responsible investment firm. Prior to that, she was a Peace Corps Volunteer, based in southern Malawi. She has her masters in Environmental Science and Management, specializing in Corporate Environmental Management and Pollution Remediation Modeling, from University of California, Santa Barbara, and her bachelors in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Jason HwaSenior Manager, Data Science and Reporting
Jason has over 5 years of experience in risk modeling, data analytics, and statistical consulting. Previously, he worked for a defense contractor in Virginia, building risk analysis models to help CBP officers more efficiently target illicit cargo. Jason holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (Operations Research), a minor in Computational Finance, and a Master’s degree in Statistical Practice, all from Carnegie Mellon University. In his spare time, he enjoys playing drums and is an avid golfer.
Brad WellsSenior Software Engineer
Brad Wells is a software engineer who is passionate about building beautiful applications and connecting with his audience through accessible data visualization. Before joining Orchard in 2014, Brad served as a lead technologist at Booz Allen Hamilton, a consulting firm based in Virginia, focusing on everything from the modeling and simulation of telecommunication networks to cyber security analytics and web-based training. He graduated with a Computer Science degree from the University of Virginia, which means that not even being a resident of New York can remove the pastel polo shirts and Rainbows from his wardrobe. The most exciting aspect of being a part of the Orchard team? Being right next to Eataly and their amazing prime rib sandwich. Being positioned to disrupt marketplace lending is a pretty close second though.
Shayne MullenManager, Business Development
Shayne has spent the last few years consulting with and selling clients on fixed income technology as well as buyside trading systems. Most recently at Bloomberg, Shaynewas responsible for advising clients on the full spectrum of the multi asset trade life cycle including idea generation, order management, execution, compliance, integration, portfolio management, reconciliation and reporting. Shayne graduated from the College of Charleston in South Carolina and has a passion for golf, skiing and craft beer.
Will KinneySenior Software Engineer
William is a software engineer with over 10 years experience in solving large scale data problems in a variety of applications. Prior to Orchard, William was an early hire at Admeld, having built out their complex data processing and reporting infrastructure for their advertising platform, then Google where he continued his work on the AdX advertising exchange. Previously, William worked in Washington, DC on various government contracts ranging form network intrusion analysis to emergency preparedness systems. He holds as BS in Computer Science from Villanova University and Master of Science in IST from George Washington University.
Ethan SchwarzbachManager, Business Development
Ethan joins us from the financial world where he worked on the US interest rate trading desk at the Royal Bank of Scotland . At RBS he specialized in exotic interest rate options, mortgage backed securities, and interest rate derivative trading. He is excited to join to the Orchard team and is passionate about the transformation of markets through technology. Ethan graduated from Duke University and enjoys writing screenplays in his free-time.
Torie PollackManager, People Operations
Prior to joining the Orchard team Torie Bader worked at TriNet Ambrose as an HR/Client Services Associate. At TriNet, Torie assisted top executives and employees with benefits, payroll, HR compliance, and accounting issues. She was the single point of contact and managed the HR administration for over 47 small to mid-sized financial services, media, and technology companies. Prior to TriNet she worked as an Executive Assistant in Digital Advertising and Revenue Operations and Digital FP&A at Condé Nast and was a Logistics Coordinator and Associate at a firm called Golden Carriers, Inc. in northern NJ. Torie is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she obtained a B.A. in Communications with a minor in Gender, Race, and Ethnicity Studies.
Raphael Del RioCreative Director
Originally starting his career in Chicago as a brand and identity designer for various industries Raphael has spent the last several years focused on all areas of design for the financial tech sector. Before joining Orchard his most recent stint was senior designer at E*TRADE working on marketing initiatives, trading applications and also serving as lead designer for its skunkworks projects. Before that he freelanced for other important tech resources like NextCapital and CDW. He holds a BA in Art and Design from Columbia College and spends his free time studying Muay Thai and baking decadent biscuits with an non-disclosable amount of butter.
Allan ErskineSenior Software Engineer
Allan is a software engineer with over 10 years of front office experience in financial institutions such as Citadel and Credit Suisse, and more recently as a financial technology consultant at Lab49. Allan specializes in functional programming and adopting the idioms of immutability and statelessness to create reliable and scaleable software architectures. His languages of choice are Scala, Clojure, Python and Haskell.
JP WartmanManager, Business Development
JP has spent the last several years managing relationships with institutional investors in various capacities at BlackRock. Most recently, he interfaced with research analysts at financial advisory firms who were tasked with vetting funds for buy lists and model portfolios. Previously, he covered insurance clients that managed assets on BlackRock’s comprehensive investment management and risk analytics platform. JP graduated from Syracuse University where he studied Finance and Economics. He is passionate about startups, travel, and all things music.
Jenny BakerSenior Account Manager
Jenny originally came to New York to pursue dreams of journalism and began her career at Wenner Media. After quickly realizing that the opportunity in print journalism was extremely limited and was not going to make her New York lifestyle vision a reality, she discovered ad:tech. Jenny joined the company LiveRail in the fall of 2012 where she was introduced to programmatic decisioning in the desktop and mobile video space. LiveRail was a publisher focused, supply-side platform that powered billions of real-time auctions every day. In the summer of 2014, LiveRail was acquired by Facebook where Jenny has been until her most recent jump into fin-tech at Orchard. She is excited to watch the same concepts of programmatic decisioning come to life and shape the future of marketplace lending. As a Texas native, she prefers tacos and tequila and nothing lights up her world like homemade tortillas!
Michael TothSenior Manager, Analytics & Research
Michael Toth has 4 years of experience working in credit risk analytics. Prior to joining Orchard, Michael was an associate at BlackRock. He was responsible for the valuation and risk analysis of mortgage whole loans and securitized products for several financial institution clients, covering portfolios with valuations in excess of $400 billion. Michael is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a B.S. in Economics with Finance and Statistics concentrations. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing chess, and programming.
Lina BasilaiaSales Coordinator
Lina joined Orchard in Spring of 2015 to assist the sales team in their operations efforts. She is a recent graduate of The College of Charleston, in South Carolina, where she earned a BS in International Business with a minor in Russian Studies. In addition to being extremely excited about such a unique opportunity, Lina enjoys traveling and meeting new people.
Carolyn BurtonOffice Manager
Carolyn has spent the last two and a half years teaching English in Thailand while exploring the area and learning the culture. She is excited to join the Orchard team where she can learn more about the industry while utilizing her skills and global experience to foster Orchard’s growth. Carolyn is a native Texan and earned her BA in Spanish with a minor in Business from Texas Tech University.
Linnea Perelli-MinettiDirector, Operations & Partnerships
Linnea Perelli-Minetti has spent the past six years in financial services technology, most recently at Amazon where she launched Amazon Lending in the UK. Prior to joining Amazon, Linnea was with Visa on both the merchant and F.I. businesses, covering some of the largest global banks and retailers. A proud Wildcat, Linneagraduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in History and Political Science, where she also studied classical trumpet.
Elliot StoreyStrategic Partnerships
Elliot‘s career began at Admeld and continued at Google after its acquisition, working on the Client Services teams and managing relationships with large online publishers in London and Berlin. He then returned to London to be the first employee in the newly created Business Development team at Sociomantic, a Berlin based demand side platform within the advertising technology space. Elliot has been with Orchard for over 18 months and will be spending most of 2017 between New York, London and mainland Europe, meeting with potential new partners and assisting with Orchard’s international expansion strategy.
Mihir SanghaviSoftware Engineer
Mihir Sanghavi will be responsible for creating interactive visualizations to enable users to glean business insights and allow them to communicate with their data. He loves user experience and has extensive experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular and D3. Prior to joining Orchard, he worked at Morgan Stanley where he dabbled in iOS development, developed transaction processing systems and, most recently, built proof of concepts to revamp their flagship financial advisor facing portal. He graduated top of his class (summacum laude), earning a B.S. (Honors) from New Jersey Institute of Technology, double majoring in applied mathematics and computer science. He will be pursuing a part-time masters in Operations Research at Columbia this fall.
Andy MeiSenior Software Engineer
Andy has 13 years of experience in software development in various sectors such as financial services and enterprise software solutions, specializing in enterprise software architecture design and implementation. Prior to Orchard, Andy worked at Anchorage Capital, The Rohatyn Group, Goldman Sachs and Computer Associates. He has lead numerous successful launches of new key initiative and products and co-hold patent for CA iTechnlogy. Andy studied Computer Science at SUNY StonyBrook and architecture at CUNY City College.
Bram CohenManager, Finance & Accounting
Bram is a CPA and joins Orchard with a diverse background in professional services. He spent three years with HA&W, a public accounting firm in Atlanta, Georgia. As a tax specialist, Bram developed personalized strategies for clients in the real estate and technology sectors. Recently, he moved to New York and spent the last two years with AIG performing risk analysis for private equity funds, protecting their portfolio companies against transactional and securities claims. Bram graduated from the University of Georgia where he studied Accounting and Finance. He’s a startup enthusiast, loves to travel, golf, and patiently awaits the day his beloved Dawgs hoist the crystal upon winning the College Football National Championship.
Larry Haertel Jr.Director, Product Marketing
Larry manages Orchard’s product marketing efforts, working closely with the product and sales teams to develop Orchard’s positioning and help bring new products to market. Larry is also a regular contributor of content to the Orchard blog and serves as in-house editor for external content initiatives. Larry first joined Orchard as an intern while completing his MBA at UCLA Anderson and came on full time upon graduating and moving back to New York. Prior to getting his graduate degree, Larry held sales roles at UBS and Curbed and also gained valuable marketing analytics experience as an intern at ChowNow. A graduate of Brown University, Larry won the Ivy League Championship while also earning three-time All Ivy League honors as captain of the golf team. He remains active on the local and national competitive amateur golf circuit.
Lisa LaCasciaTalent Acquisition Associate
Lisa comes to Orchard after spending a few years working as an accountant for professional & financial services firms. She was most recently at the family office of Chilton Investment Company. As an accountant, Lisa advised both high net worth individuals & corporate clients on tax planning & savings strategies as well as ensuring tax compliance. At both firms, Lisa assisted in the recruiting processes which led her to pursue her role in human resources. She graduated from Sacred Heart University where she played volleyball. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Human Resources Management. Lisa loves to travel, enjoys live music, and still plays competitive volleyball.
Gary ReifmanSenior Director, Product Management
Gary Reifman is an accomplished FinTech executive with over 20 years of experience delivering solutions to the global financial services industry. Prior to joining Orchard, Gary ran the finance product at Dataminr, the leading real-time social media information discovery company. Gary was previously a Managing Director at Markit, where he was responsible for real-time parsing, global desktop and distribution for the firm’s information business. He joined Markit through the sale of Communicator Inc, where he was a founding partner and managed research distribution, messaging and compliance platforms. Gary is a graduate of Rutgers University and lives in Upper Saddle River, NJ with his wife Robyn and three children.
Yuhui YangData Analyst
Yuhui started her career in the US as a summer intern in Orchard’s analytics team, working on projects such as creating consolidated reports with data visualization techniques. After
graduating from the MA statistics program in Columbia University, Yuhui continues her career in Orchard as a data analyst. Yuhui also has a bachelor degree in financial engineering from Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing and a master degree in economics from London School of Economics (LSE). Yuhui has a great passion for data science and is enthusiastic about making contributions to Orchard with her diversified background in statistics, economics and finance.
Frank SauerSenior Software Engineer
Frank is a software engineer with over 25 years of experience in various domains including (medical) insurance, retail and finance. Originally from the Netherlands, where he received his master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Twente in 1990, he has lived in the United States since 1992. After having spent 20 years in the South he resides since 2012 in the New York area. His current language of choice is Scala, having recovered from a long love-hate relationship with Java that started in 1996, which he always considered a step backwards from his first love – Smalltalk. His current interests are Functional Reactive Programming, streaming and event processing and large scale, highly available distributed systems. Prior to Orchard Frank worked at J9 Technologies, Lab49, DST Health Solutions, Perot Systems and the University of Miami.
Christopher ElizondoAccount Manager
Chris has spent the last several years as a corporate credit analyst across the buy- and sell-side. Most recently, Chris was a Media & Cable Credit Analyst at the Credit Investments Group at Credit Suisse Asset Management. In that role Chris conducted fundamental bottoms up credit analysis and made Buy/Sell recommendations to the group’s investment committee. Prior to that, Chris was a Corporate & Investment Banking analyst within the Global Industrials Group at Citi covering Metals & Mining. Chris graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering with Specialization in Biomechanics. Chris is passionate about volleyball, kickboxing, and travel.
Jeremiah NealDirector, Business DevelopmentJeremiah Neal has 9 years of experience in finance, strategy and business development. In his most recent role, Jeremiah was responsible for developing the corporate strategy and sourcing and executing key strategic and investment partnerships at Biz2Credit – a small business loan originator. He has also held various capital markets roles at Barclays, where he focused on the technology, media and telecom sectors and at Chevron, as a senior credit analyst for the company’s global lubricants business. Jeremiah holds an MBA from the University of Michigan – Ross School of Business and a B.S. in business administration from Cal Poly, where he was an NCAA Division I track and field athlete. Outside of work, Jeremiah is an avid traveler, outdoorsman and food enthusiast.
Jonathan BrausDirector, Credit Analytics & Investment Strategy
Jonathan began his career in the MBS research group at Merrill Lynch where his primary responsibility was to publish weekly articles on the MBS market for institutional clients. He first concentrated on agency passthroughs and CMOs before focusing his efforts on building out their non-agency platform as that market became a priority. Eventually Jonathan moved to the internal MBS prop desk as a strategist before leaving with his team for a hedge fund. After some time there, he moved to a big data analytics firm called 1010data as the lead analyst for financial services clients where he helped close to 100 institutions including large broker-dealers, funds and money-managers of all sizes, rating agencies, and insurers with their analytical needs. Jonathan received a BA from Cornell University in mathematics and economics.
Erik GoshinDirector, Product Management
Erik has over 17 years of product development, business operations, and investment banking experience. Before joining Orchard, he directed product and content development at Street Diligence, a covenant analytics platform serving investors in high yield and distressed securities. Prior to that, he was responsible for business operations at Quinciple, a weekly farmers market subscription service. Erik spent ten years at Capital IQ, as the business and product owner for Transaction and Credit platforms where he developed new products, built proprietary content and scaled large global teams. While at Lehman Brothers and JPMorgan Chase, he executed strategic and capital markets transactions for Power and Utility clients. Erik earned his BA in Asian Studies from Hamilton College and his MA from the Elliot School of International Affairs at George Washington University.
Sandesh DevarajSenior Software Engineer
Sandesh has over 10 years of experience building software systems. Before joining Orchard, he spent the last 4 years solving optimization-related problems at AppNexus. Previously, he has worked at multiple early stage startups developing search and language processing systems. Sandesh holds a Masters in Computer Sciences from Stony Brook University. His interests include distributed computing, data structures, machine learning and board games.
Christine PonderOperations Project Manager
Christine spent the last six years in the mortgage servicing industry as both a project manager and client services manager. Most recently, she directed development and oversaw implementation of a proprietary mortgage document imaging software solution for Caliber Home Loans. Before that, she managed regulatory oversight projects as well as spearheaded client services for Green Tree Financial Services and MetLife. A passionate Baylor Bear, Christine graduated with a degree in Business Management in 2009.
Jason DolingerSenior Software Engineer
Jason is a software engineer with over 15 years of experience building enterprise systems across a variety of heterogeneous platforms and languages. Prior to Orchard he spent 10 years with Lab49 working as a consultant in the capital markets, cutting his teeth on projects at nearly every Wall Street investment bank as well as several buy-side institutions. These included trading systems, fixed income analytics, and business intelligence tools. He started his career as a consultant at Capgemini working for clients in reinsurance and retail products. Originally picking up basic functional programming constructs during his time working with C# and .NET, he is thrilled to be applying these to the JVM with Scala! Jason graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Computer Science along with a minor in Economics.
Alex SchierenSenior QA Engineer
Alexandra is a software tester who is passionate about all details that go into making great software. She loves learning about new development and test techniques, and she enjoys collaborating with others to discover great solutions. She believes that quality software is something that needs to be kept in consideration at all parts in the software development process. Alexandra graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors in Information Science. Outside of work, she can often be found reading or jogging.
Sheetal TalsaniaPeople Operations Associate
Sheetal began her career as a Senior Operations Specialist at Brown Brothers Harriman, a privately owned financial firm where her primary focus was in Investor Services and Reconciliation & Analysis. After 7 successful years of professional experience in various client facing roles within the banking industry she realized the aspects of her work she found most rewarding were all in HR related functions. Her passion to learn more about Human Resources bought her to TriNet Ambrose where she was a HR/Client Service Associate. At TriNet, she assisted top executives and employees with benefits, payroll, HR compliance, and accounting issues. She was their single point of contact and managed the HR administration for over 33 small to mid-sized financial services, media, and technology companies. After some time, she moved to an alternative asset management firm called Och-Ziff Capital Management as a HR/Recruiting Coordinator where she assisted in successfully executing various recruitment efforts for both Campus and Lateral Recruiting. She graduated from Rutgers State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. In her spare time, she is a foodie at heart who enjoys traveling, spending time with family, physical fitness including Bikram yoga, cooking, baking and photography.
Liam von ThienData Analyst
Liam obtained his Bachelor of International Studies and a Bachelor of Laws from Flinders University of South Australia. He worked briefly in support roles at two Australian government departments, before moving to the United States to pursue a PhD in Political Science at NYU. At NYU he focused on ethnic politics along with the politics of courts and the judiciary. He also taught undergraduate classes in game theory, international relations, American politics and political theory at both NYU and Yeshiva University. At Orchard he’s excited to deploy and develop his skills in data analysis and integration.
Ian MillerDirector, Compliance & Business Operations
Ian started his career at Goldman Sachs where he spent 11 years with the Global Clearing Services business serving in many roles including Client Services, Management and Strategy, and Product Development. Before leaving for Orchard, he played a lead role in a franchise-wide effort to migrate the clearing business into a single broker dealer, which led to increased operational efficiency and significant cost and capital savings for the firm. Ian is a New York City area native where he currently resides with his family, and enjoys traveling, NY sports, and cooking. He received his BA from Colgate University and his MBA from Northeastern University.
Jeremy LongobardiSenior Accountant
Jeremy is a CPA who has 3 years of experience working in public accounting on large international financial services clients. Prior to joining Orchard, Jeremy was a Senior at Deloitte and Touche LLP. His responsibilities included supervising/performing audits of international banking and securities clients with a specialization in broker-dealers. He graduated from the University of Connecticut, with a B.S. and M.S. in Accounting. Jeremy is a passionate UConn basketball fan, food enthusiast, and avid golfer.

Fraz comes to Orchard with over 11 years of experience, predominantly in financial services (fintech). He has worked as a devleoper, systems/devOps engineer, and has managed multiple teams (local and remote). He is self-motivated and a self-starter, striving to understand the big picture. Fraz enjoys working in startup environments!
David BeaverDirector, Content & Communications
David brings over 15 years of experience working in the financial services and alternative investment industries to the Orchard team.
He spent the majority of his career at Man Investments, one of the world’s largest independent alternative investment managers, and held various roles in research, product development/client services, investment writing, and marketing. Over that time he focused on continually broadening his understanding of investment styles, strategies, and processes, across asset classes, sectors, and regions, and honing his ability to communicate these often complex topics effectively.
More recently, David served as the Communications Director at Millennium Trust Company, a provider of administrative and custody-related services for alternative investments. He drove a successful, two-year, multi-channel campaign to raise the brand’s profile in targeted markets and to help maximize the company’s valuation in advance of a planned sale. Parthenon Capital Partners purchased Millennium at the end of 2015 for an undisclosed amount.
David earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College Chicago with a focus in creative writing. He has an entrepreneurial bent and enjoys working on projects related to visual arts, visual communications, and the independent recording industry in his free time. He owned a small publishing company from 2004 to 2014 that published limited edition prints for a handful of artists and graphic designers and launched an independent record label in 2009 that released two limited edition vinyl pressings. He is also an avid skateboarder.

After studying math in college, Jim briefly worked as a programmer at the National Institutes of Health and then a small defense contractor, before he ended up on Wall Street where he has been writing applications in various languages for fixed income front offices for almost 20 years. . He is an avid college basketball fan (and every year he finds himself writing slightly different software to scrape and analyze college basketball stats from the web).
Fernando DamatoMBA Intern
Fernando Damato has spent the past five years in corporate banking, having worked in the two largest private banks in Brazil. Most recently, Fernando worked as an Account Manager at Bradesco, responsible for advising his clients on a wide range of Debt Capital Markets operations. Fernando moved to New York in June 2016 to pursue his MBA at NYU Stern.
