December Orchard Meetup Recap
Earlier this week, we hosted the last Orchard Meetup of 2016 in our new offices in New York City. Orchard co-founders Matt Burton (who just managed to make it, after spending the bulk of his day in D.C. at an interagency working group on online lending hosted by the U.S. Treasury) David Snitkof, and Jon Kelfer were in attendance, as well as a number of members of the Orchard team. We want to thank you all for stopping by and continuing to make these meetups a success.
While the bulk of the evening was devoted to networking, Business Development Manager Shayne Mullen spent a few minutes reflecting on the challenges and successes of 2016 and chatting with the group about his thoughts on 2017.
Orchard’s Senior Director of Product Management, Gary Reifman, then took some time to recap what Orchard has been working on over 2016 (including an updated cash flow simulator and a tool to build and analyze pools of loans), and where we’re planning to devote our efforts in 2017.
We created these Meetups to help grow the community and foster the education of like-minded individuals seeking to gain and share industry knowledge, and it was great to catch up with everyone before we all head off for the holidays. In fact, I’m happy to report the event went on well past the scheduled end-time (much to our building security’s dismay) and was well attended by a range of new participants as well as many familiar faces.
We’d also like to thank the sponsors who help organize and host meetups around the country.
Looking forward to 2017! Happy Holidays!
